Nick and I always look forward to our date nights. We love nothing more than going out for dinner; enjoying excellent food, delicious wine and each others company. Although we inevitably end up talking about the children for most of the evening, it’s still nice to have a break away from our usual evening routine of kids in bed, dinner and a boxset.

1. The Pipe and Glass, South Dalton
We adore this Michelin-starred pub on the outskirts of Beverley. The food is always fantastic and the wine list is masterful. If you’re a foodie, you must visit here! Plus they have rooms if you wanted to make a mini break of it.
2. The Pig & Whistle, Beverley
New to Beverley, this intimate bistro is already a huge hit with Nick and I. The cheese selection is incredible and we were so impressed by the attention to detail on each plate of food.
3. 1884 Dock Street Kitchen, Hull
An absolutely stunning venue on Hull’s marina. The food is fantastic – as is the wine list… and don’t get me started on the cheese board! We love coming here mid-week when they have a brilliant set menu, which is incredibly reasonably priced.
4. Parkway Cinema, Beverley
We don’t often go to the cinema as prefer to talk and enjoy each others company on a date night, but the new Parkway Cinema on Flemingate in Beverley is a wonderful place to go for date night. There’s a reasonably priced bar, the popcorn isn’t too pricey and the seats are so comfy! Booking recommended though, as it gets very busy.
5. Whites Restaurant, Beverley
Another intimate restaurant with truly wonderful food. I took Nick here for his 30th birthday and we had an amazing meal. The tasting menu is exquisite.
I’m hoping that one of the children might open their own restaurant one day (a foodie mum’s DREAM!)… so not only have I have been babysitter hunting on the Sitters website for our next date night – I’ve been reading about the best cooking games for kids over on their blog.
Do you have a favourite place to go for date night?
Ohh the days of date night..my long lost friend ha ha. We’re north yorkshire so not tooooo far away. If we ever do get that date night and branch out a bit further afield we’ll be sure to check some of these places out! x
Sounds like you have lots of lovely places to frequent to in your local area. I hope one day we can find someone to have the baby so we can have a nice meal and a night in a hotel! The joys of parenthood!
Date night…what’s that?! We can only have date afternoons at the moment but we did have one recently when we went to the cinema and ate a belly full of TGI Fridays ribs! Your list sounds lovely
I definitely need to take a leaf out of your book and sort some date nights for me and John. They all sound great though, we have a new little independent cinema near us too and it has couches - I was so impressed!
Some lovely places . Date nights on non existent in our house 🙁
I think I’ve forgotten what a date night is… We used to absolutely love the cinema, maybe I can add that to my resolutions list for 2018!
These all sound lovely. If we ever manage a break away I will check some of them out.
